When I finally finished I didn't know what to do with the spare time I had. I didn't have anything to read. I always looked down on fiction because I spent so many years reading nonfiction. It took me six months after graduating to pick up a fiction book without guilt and start reading. Thats when I discovered that I enjoyed it. I grew up reading fiction and loved it but never had time for it while I was in school. I guess the rambling point of this is that I've had to get over my guilty feelings and move on to this part of my life where I really can take time to enjoy it. I guess its all a matter of finding what makes you happy and this time in your life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315921425588478095.post-66551841559469971082007-04-11T14:29:00.000-04:002007-04-11T14:29:00.000-04:00Thanks, Katie and Judy. And Judy, I'm thinking of doing some ministry handicrafts, too. So who knows? By the way, Judy, I looked at your blog. You've got some beautiful afghans on there. Love the colors!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08392156184716928339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315921425588478095.post-48463732767521521132007-04-11T12:56:00.000-04:002007-04-11T12:56:00.000-04:00Robin, I agree with Katie here: first, I don't thi...Robin, I agree with Katie here: first, I don't think you're wimping out before reaping a harvest. I believe God has given us talents to share and bless others with, BUT that said, it doesn't mean we should be miserable while serving Him! AS AN EXAMPLE: I LOVE to crochet and do other handcrafts, and my writing has taken a back seat. But I have been joining donated squares to make lapghans for patients in a rehab hospital and doing other work - both charity and just to "gift" people - and have spread joy in that way. On the other hand, you're at a wonderful point where you don't feel any pressure to achieve, so it could be even more fun. Writing one page a day, you'd still have a book in a year-maybe it's just a great time to explore your new loves. All things in their season. I have no answers here. LOL. But I do know what you're talking about. When I feel that way, I simply have to step away and take a break from writing or I grow to dislike it. I think that's the nice thing about getting older. You get to do what you want, when you want.Katie Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16315774618317203084noreply@blogger.com
